NEW YORK, JUNE 13 – In her first institutional meeting in New York, Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli took part in the EU coordination meeting prior to COSP 16, the Sixteenth Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The meeting, chaired by European Commissioner Helena Dalli, took place at the headquarters of the EU Permanent Representation to the UN.
“I intervened to recall some priorities that we need to address together. Health and well-being, which among other aspects has that of access to care. Pathways to training and inclusion at work in collaboration with the third sector and valuing everyone’s skills. New technologies. The right to exercise the vote. Guarantee of the personalized and participatory life project,” Locatelli said.
“I hope that we will continue to work as we do today also finding ourselves in Europe,” hoped the Italian minister, who spoke today in the plenary and tomorrow will chair the side event at the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on “Ensuring accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities in health and support services.”(@OnuItalia)
