VICENZA, MARCH 10 – Ambassador Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the UN Undersecretary General for Peacekeeping Operations, visited today Vicenza’s Center of Excellence for Stability Police Unites. The visit offered the opportunity to highlight the ongoing collaboration between the United Nations and CoESPU to enhance the capabilities of police components in peace operations.
In 2010, the CoESPU and the UN DPO formally agreed to cooperate more closely and contribute to successful UN Peace Operations. In the years since, the focus has been on improving the capability of Carabinieri-like Police Components through comprehensive training in stability policing. Through close cooperation with the United Nations Police Division and other international organizations, with a particular emphasis on the self-sufficiency of Police Contributing Countries (PCC) that goal is closer to being realized.
Over the years, CoESPU has become a hub of knowledge and excellence, and has attracted students from all corners of the world. Since his establishment CoESPU hosted 13.149 students from 128 countries, 17 international organizations, and several universities. (@OnuItalia)
