Go Goals Together: Sabrina Rocca and the SDGs at UN Headquarters in December

NEW YORK/TURIN, OCTOBER 20 – Born in Turin during the lockdown months, an art exhibition on the 17 sustainable development goals will arrive at UN Headquarters in New York in December. “Go Goals Together” is the title of the show by the artist Sabrina Rocca that the Italian Permanent Representation at the UN, in collaboration with the Turin-based ILO Training Centre, will bring to the UN from 5 to 16 December.

“Social themes have always been present in my paintings, and I felt them more profoundly during the lockdown period,” explained Sabrina Rocca in a preview on Twitter: “I probably tried to find a small connection within all my paintings from these last years, to give a voice to what were my needs, my feeling at that moment. I found it in the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations. A kind of hope and some rules to be inspired by and reflect on”.

Inspired by pop art and comic graphics, Sabrina Rocca tries, through her work, to make us reflect, with a smile, on important themes: “Because I do not believe in criticism for its own sake, and not even in the satire that all too often results in bad taste” she explains on her website. The new cycle of paintings “Go Goals Together” will be set up in a special space: the exhibition, curated by Monica Trigona, will welcome diplomats at their entrance to the Glass Palace.
