NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 24 – At the Member States’ Advisory Group on Climate, Italy’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Stefano Stefanile, firmly committed to raise ambition on climate action and to step up transition to climate neutrality in line with the European Green Deal.
“Italy is looking forward to the Climate Ambition Summit scheduled on December 12th to build momentum for a successful process towards COP26″, added Stefanile.
The Summit, convened by the United Nations, United Kingdom, and France, in partnership with Chile and Italy, will mark the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the Paris Agreement and is positioned as a “sprint to Glasgow,” where the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is scheduled to take place from 1–12 November 2021. The event will provide a platform for government and non-governmental leaders to demonstrate their commitment to the Paris Agreement and the multilateral process. (@OnuItalia)
