ROME/NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 28 – The Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte had a conversation tonight via videoteleconference with the President of the 75th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, Volkan Bozkir.
The agenda was focused on the main global issues addressed by the 75th UNGA and on the important international events led by Italy in 2021, that is the Italian G20 Presidency, our partnership with Great Britain for COP26 and the co-hosting of the Global Health Summit together with the European Commission.
“We discussed the UN Security Council reform process and the need to enhance our working methods to address global challenges”, Bozkir said on Twitter. Prime Minister Conte reiterated Italy’s strong commitment to multilateralism and to the UN system as fundamental tools to face global challenges such as COVID-19 and its socio-economic consequences, especially in the most vulnerable countries.
