ROME, FEBRUARY 28 – The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani met today in Rome with UN Under-Secretary-General Athul Khare. On top of the agenda of the talks were future initiatives to strenghten the UN hub in Brindisi which the UN official visited yesterday, accompanied by the Italian Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador Maurizio Massari.
“Italy, as one of the top contributors and suppliers of advanced technologies, strongly supports the peacekeeping activities of the UN. We work together with Undersecretary Khare to strengthen the UN Hub in Brindisi, the main logistical base for peacekeeping operations”, Tajani posted on Twitter alongside a photo of the meeting.
