GLASGOW, NOVEMBER 2 – The Italian Ministry for the Ecological Transition has decided to allocate an annual budget of 3-4 million Euros to make the Youth4Climate youth climate conference, which was organized by the Italian government in September in Milan prior to PreCop26, a fixed event every year, the Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani, announced at Cop26 in Glasgow.
“The experience of Youth4Climate was very important: we gave young people a table where they could present proposals. Now we want it to become a permanent event with a hub that keeps activists in touch,” Cingolani told the CoP.
The minister also announced that the Italian government has joined the Global Energy Alliance, a $10 billion fund that includes the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ikea Foundation, Jeff Bezos’ Earth Foundation and other international financial institutions, among them the World Bank and the African Development Bank. The goal is to accelerate the ecological transition in less developed countries. (@OnuItalia)
