60 years of OECD: a book on the relations with Italy

PARIS, JANUARY 16 – Following the initiative of Ambassador Antonio Bernardini, Italy’s current Permanent Representative to the OECD in Paris, a book has been published to mark the 60th anniversary of the signing of the agreement establishing the OECD.

Entitled “Italy and the 60 Years of the OECD,” the book opens with messages by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria. The preface is written by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, and the introduction by Ambassador Bernardini.

The book, enriched by an extensive photographic documentation, contains a series of historical and thematic essays that provide a complete picture of the Paris-based Organization through the eyes of the Italians who have marked and contributed to its history. Among the authors are former OECD officials, including the Governor of the Bank of Italy, Ignazio Visco, former Ministers, Pier Carlo Padoan and Enrico Giovannini, and other senior officials currently in service (Stefano Scarpetta and Mario Pezzini).
