NEW YORK, OCTOBER 31 – Addressing the “interactive dialogue” with member States in the 3rd Committee of the General Assembly, the High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, assured delegates that, “in spite of the very politicized debate surrounding refugee and migration issues, UNHCR’s work will continue to be strictly humanitarian and non-political”.
Italy, represented by the Permanent Representative Mariangela Zappia, reaffirmed its strong support to UNHCR’s mandate and work. “The gravity and complexity of the refugee crises in the world require a holistic response of the international community based on principles of partnership, solidarity & shared responsibility”, said Zappia.
