ROME, APRIL 1 – On 6 April IFAD is organizing an event at the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy, the biggest annual media event in Europe.
IFAD not only promotes nutrition but also initiatives that indirectly have an impact on girl’s nutrition, guaranteeing their right to food and that of future generations. Every year about 12 million girls marry very early and 16 million adolescents become mothers. These young women, especially if they are undernourished, are more likely to die in childbirth or give birth to children who suffer from malnutrition. Focusing on better nutrition for young women – can that build a better future for everyone? Join this panel to find out more.
Attending the panel are Michelin-starred Italian chef Cristina Bowerman, who is originally from Puglia, runs a range of innovative restaurants and catering services in Rome and supports IFAD’s Recipes for Change campaign; Antonella Cordone, Senior Technical Specialist, Nutrition in the Environment, Climate, Gender and Social Inclusion Division; Photographer, journalist and film director, Linda Dorigo, and Luca Rosini, a journalist, director and host of Rai television program UnoMattina.
