NEW YORK, JANUARY 14 – “Inclusiveness, transparency, human development, innovation will be the key principles guiding our action throughout the process of the UN Economic and Social Council’s (ECOSOC) fourth Forum on Financing for Development Follow-up (FfD Forum) taking place from 15-18 April 2019, the Italian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mariangela Zappia said today.
The Forum will provide a benchmark for boosting implementation of Addis Ababa Action Agenda and the Un 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals. Italy “is honored to co-facilitate the Outcome Document of the 2019 Forum. Meaningful engagement of all stakeholders, especially of youth, is crucial to translate our efforts into a long-term sustainable improvement of people’s lives, Zappia said, stressing how Financing for Development should be at the core of financing policies: “We look forward to inputs from civil society, private sector, local authorities, academia. Open dialogue with all relevant actors, first and foremost with young people, is key to the success of Forum”, she said.
