ROME, 15 DECEMBER – Today, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Ettore Sequi, met Ambassador Earle Courtney Rattray, Chief of Staff of the Secretary General of the United Nations, at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The focus of the meeting was Italy’s full support to the United Nations and to the action of Secretary General Antonio Guterres to relaunch effective and inclusive multilateralism. With regard to the conflict in Ukraine, the two Ambassadors analysed the situation on the ground and the wide repercussions of the current crisis, with particular reference to energy and food security. Mr Rattray recalled that the United Nations has facilitated the achievement of concrete results with important humanitarian implications, such as the Black Sea grain agreement.
