NEW YORK, MAY 19 – The Italian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Maurizio Massari, had an “inspiring discussion’ today with the President of the Italian Red Cross and of the Federation of the Red Cross and Half Crescent Societies, Francesco Rocca. The conversation touched Italy‘s cooperation with the IFRC on Ukraine and other crises.
Massari thanked Rocca and his organizations for their invaluable work on humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable and stressed that Italy is ready to bolster joint actions also in food security.
Francesco Rocca is in New York to attend the first review of the UN Global Compact for Migration (GCM). His message, ahead leaving Geneva, was a call on states to step up to their responsibility to save lives, “no matter where people are from”. (@OnuItalia)
