NEW YORK, MARCH 8 – On International Women’s Day, the Italian Permanent representative to the UN, Maurizio Massari, honored all women of the world “of all races, nationalities, ages, for their contribution to try to make the world a better place”.
Italy stands for women empowerment and women rights, women of all continents from Africa to Afghanistan, said Massari “But today a special thought goes to women in Ukraine, whose life has been disrupted by a senseless and horrific war. We stand with the Ukrainian women, we are with you, we will not leave you alone”, remarked the Ambassador in a short video-message posted on Twitter by the Italian Mission.
Members of the Italian delegation held photographs of Ukrainian women taken by UN staffers in the field: “In their faces they show their braveness during this senseless war”, said the message of the Mission. (@OnuItalia)
