ROME/NEW YORK, APRIL 20 – The Italian Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, spoke today with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
The phone call was focused on the main global issues, also in the framework of the Italian G20 Presidency: international cooperation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change. Tomorrow, on Earth Day, Mr. Draghi will attend the Leaders’ Summit on climate, while Italy is co-organizing the COP 26 with the United Kingdom.
The economic and social recovery with special attention to the most vulnerable Countries were also on the agenda of the conversation. Views on the main international crises were also shared, with a particular focus on Libya, the office of Mr. Draghi reported.
