NEW YORK, OCTOBER 29 – The Italian Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Mariangela Zappia, and members of the group Uniting for Consensus, chaired by Italy, met the president of the General Assembly Tijjani Muhammad-Bande. “It was a productive meeting,” said on Twitter the Italian delegation at the United Nations.
On the meeting’s agenda was the Security Council reform, in light of which the group’s proposal consists of an enlargement in the number of non-permanents seats and the introduction of a new category of elected seats with a longer mandate and the possibility of immediate re-election.
