NEW YORK, APRIL 18 – Enel Green Power S.p.A. is an Italian multinational renewable energy corporation, headquartered in Rome. The company was 
formed as a subsidiary of the power generation firm Enel in December 2008, grouping its global renewable energy interests. The CEO is Antonio Cammisecra.

Enel Green Power is present in 29 countries in 5 continents with a managed capacity of over 42 GW and over 1,200 plants. Its production mix includes the main renewable sources: wind, solar, hydroelectric and geothermal.
Enel Green Power in Africa
Enel Green Power is the first RES private operator in Africa for installed capacity and under construction and is present in South Africa, Morocco, Ethiopia, Zambia and Kenya.
World Bank Scaling Solar Programme
Scaling Solar has been designed to enable governments and utilities to execute quick, simple, professional, transparent and competitive tenders to procure high quality, privately designed, built, owned and operated solar PV power plants under long-term contracts at competitive tariffs.
Scaling Solar seeks to help governments exploit and maximize solar PV’s inherent strengths, namely speed to construct and potential for competitive long-term, fixed rate tariffs, while managing its inherent limitations, namely its daytime-only, variable output. Scaling Solar has active engagements in Zambia, Senegal, Ethiopia and Madagascar.
Enel Green Power and Scaling Solar Zambia
In June 2016, Enel has been awarded the right to develop, finance, construct, own and operate the 34 MW Mosi-oa-Tunya PV solar project in Zambia which is expected to produce around 70 GWh per year.
Enel will be investing approximately 40 million US dollars in the construction of the solar facility, which will be supported by a 25 year-long PPA with the state-owned utility ZESCO.
Mosi-oa-Tunya is the first project to be developed by Enel in Zambia and is another step forward in establishing the company’s presence in southern Africa.
In April 2017, Enel has signed 25-year PPA with Zambian National Utility Zesco.
In June 2018, Enel and IDC signed 34 million us dollar financing agreement with IFC and EIB for the solar project in Zambia.
In August 2018, Enel Green Power started the construction of the 34 MW Ngonye solar PV plant, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2019.
