NEW YORK, MARCH 29 – During a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nation, the Director General of IOM, Antonio Vitorino, thanked him for Italy’s continous support to organization. “We highlighted our strong partnership and discussed ways to keep on responding to the current migration challenges”, said the head of the International Organization for Migrations.
Defining “productive” the talks with Vitorino, Massari assured that IOM can count on Italy’s support in the organization’s work for the most vulnerable.
“Only together can we address their needs and the root causes of food insecurity, to prevent it from causing more suffering, migration and displacement”, said the Italian Ambassador on Twitter.
Vitorino took part today in a Humanitarian Dialogue chaired by Italy on food insecurity as driver of migration and displacement. (@OnuItalia)
