NEW YORK, JULY 19 – The new Italian Permanent Representative to the UN, Maurizio Massari, started his mandate meeting the UN Deputy Secretary General Amina J Mohammed. Development, with a focus on Africa, global health, climate an energy ahead of the COP26, which Italy is co-organizing with the United Kingdom, and the UN cooperation with the Italian Presidency of the G20 where among the issues discussed in the talks.
Mohammed will be in Italy at the end of July to participate in the Food Systems Pre-Summit which Italy and FAO are organizing in view of the global meeting convened by UN Secretary Antonio Guterres next September as a side event of the General Assembly.
Massari took over his mandate as Italy’s Permanent Representative stressing Italy’s committment to UN values in a “decisive year” for global recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. (@OnuItalia)
